SCP’s Spring Premier Auction Showcases Rare Memorabilia

SCP Auctions is gearing up to host its Spring Premier Auction, and collectors are in for a treat with a remarkable lineup of sports memorabilia. The standout piece in this auction is the only known George Mikan Minneapolis Lakers warm-up suit, autographed by the basketball legend himself. This exclusive set, consisting of a jacket and pants signed by Mikan, boasts a Sports Investors Authentication LOA and is projected to command a staggering price of over $400,000.

As a seminal figure in basketball history, George Mikan’s memorabilia, especially game-worn items, hold significant allure for collectors. In addition to the Mikan warm-up suit, this auction features a selection of prime vintage baseball cards that are sure to pique the interest of enthusiasts. Among the highlights are a PSA 7 Mickey Mantle 1951 Bowman rookie card, two 1952 Topps Mantles, a 1963 Topps Mantle graded SGC 9, and a scarce 1933 Goudey #92 Lou Gehrig graded SGC 9, with the Gehrig card poised to surpass $150,000 in value.

For fans of Pete Rose memorabilia, the auction presents the second-ranked master set of his cards, following SCP’s previous sale of the top-ranked set last autumn. Additionally, collectors can look forward to a range of significant Shohei Ohtani cards and memorabilia, including Ohtani’s jersey worn on Jackie Robinson Day in 2023 and his 200th career home run ball, both expected to attract substantial bids.

Among the other notable items up for grabs are two pairs of game-worn shoes from the legendary Michael Jordan, a signature Roberto Clemente cap, a Ronald Acuna Jr. photo-matched jersey, and a Tua Tagovailoa signed jersey from 2023. The auction will also showcase high-end jewelry pieces such as the 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP award, Olympic gold medals awarded to Jim Hines and Oleksandr Abramenko, a 2003 Florida Marlins World Series ring, and a 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA championship ring.

Adding to the allure are Kobe Bryant’s game-worn and signed shoes, a 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP trophy, a Ted Williams game-used bat, a 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft Tom Brady Orange Refractor autograph, a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie card, multi-signed baseballs featuring early Hall of Fame inductees and Yankee legends, and historical sports memorabilia dating back to the early 20th century.

With over 400 lots on offer, the auction will kick off on Wednesday and run through Saturday, April 13, providing ample opportunity for sports memorabilia enthusiasts to secure prized collectibles. Bidders can participate in the auction by visiting SCPAuctions.com and exploring the diverse array of iconic items up for grabs.
