Elite Sports Cards Auction Showcasing McDavid, Gretzky, Jordan, and More

In the world of sports collecting, there are certain cards that stand out as true gems. These highly coveted pieces capture the essence of the game and the greatness of the athletes who have left an indelible mark on their respective sports. The current PWCC Marketplace Premier event is putting these extraordinary cards in the spotlight, offering collectors a chance to acquire some of the most sought-after sports cards in history.

One of the highlights of the auction is Connor McDavid’s 2015-16 Upper Deck The Cup Rookie Patch Autograph, graded BGS 9.5 and numbered to only 99. As one of hockey’s brightest stars, McDavid’s card has already seen bidding reach six figures, with time still remaining in the auction.

Another card that is sure to attract attention is Wayne Gretzky’s rookie card. This iconic piece is one of only 93 cards to achieve a PSA 9 grade, and it is expected to command a price exceeding $100,000. Gretzky is widely regarded as the greatest hockey player of all time, and his rookie card holds immense value and historical significance.

Not to be outdone, basketball legend Michael Jordan contributes to the auction’s prestige with one of his 1997 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems Red cards. Despite its ‘Authentic/Altered’ designation, this rare card is highly desirable among collectors of Jordan memorabilia.

The auction doesn’t stop with hockey and basketball; it extends into the world of baseball and football, offering collectors a diverse range of options. Vintage baseball cards include a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181 rated PSA 6, a 1948 Leaf Ruth SGC 8, and two 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle cards with SGC 4 and PSA 3 grades respectively. Additionally, a 1952 Berk Ross Mantle at SGC 8 adds to the impressive lineup.

Football enthusiasts will not be disappointed, as the auction features standout cards from the incomparable Patrick Mahomes. Among them is a 2017 Panini National Treasures Red NFL Shield 1/1 RPA graded BGS 9, as well as a Panini Prizm Gold rookie auto rated BGS 9.5. These cards represent Mahomes’ rise to prominence and his status as a three-time Super Bowl champion.

The auction also boasts a selection of other Michael Jordan memorabilia, including a 1984-85 Star Company XRC graded BGS 8.5, a 1986-87 Fleer rookie card graded BGS 9.5, a 1997 Finest Embossed Refractor #/74 graded PSA 10, and a 2003-04 Topps Chrome Xfractor LeBron James rookie card #/220 graded BGS 9.5.
