Leaf Unveils Women of Sport Trading Card Collection

Leaf Trading Cards is shaking up the trading card world with its newest release, the 2024 Leaf Metal Women of Sport collection. This groundbreaking series pays homage to iconic female athletes across different generations, ranging from legendary sports figures to today’s rising Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) stars.

The collection features a variety of autograph sets, each with its own unique theme. From the Herstory and She Got Game sets to the Starstruck and Dazzlers collections, these cards showcase the incredible talent and impact of women in sports. Fans can also look forward to sets like Unbreakable Duals and Anime Nation, adding an exciting twist to the traditional trading card experience.

Among the athletes featured in the collection are household names like Mia Hamm, Alex Morgan, Cheryl Miller, Lisa Leslie, Jennie Finch, and Doris Burke. These legendary figures are joined by today’s most prominent NIL stars, including Livvy Dunne from LSU gymnastics, Paige Bueckers from UConn basketball, Maya Brady from UCLA softball, and Makenzie Steele from Clemson track and field.

In addition to established stars, the collection also highlights up-and-coming talents such as Sophia Smith and Trinity Rodman from the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, WNBA standout Cameron Brink, and Diana Flores, a rising star in Mexico’s flag football scene. The diverse array of athletes featured in the series reflects the broad spectrum of women making waves in the world of sports.

CJ Breen, Leaf’s Director of Marketing and Licensing, expressed his excitement for the collection, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and celebrating female athletes in the trading card industry. Breen’s dedication to elevating women in sports shines through in the diverse selection of athletes and themes present in the Women of Sport collection.

One standout inclusion in the series is Duke freshman Toby Fournier, known for her electrifying dunking abilities showcased on social media. Fournier’s exclusive deal with Leaf makes her the sole incoming freshman women’s basketball player to join the collection, adding a fresh and dynamic element to the lineup of featured athletes.

Beyond individual cards, the collection also offers unique pairings of sports stars, such as a card set featuring U.S. soccer legends Mia Hamm, Alex Morgan, Sophia Smith, and Brandi Chastain. Additionally, fans can enjoy special duo cards like the dynamic pairing of Cameron Brink and Paige Bueckers, highlighting the chemistry and talent of these two exceptional athletes.

Breen’s vision for the Women of Sport collection extends beyond the trading card community, aiming to spark greater inclusivity and diversity in the hobby. By celebrating the achievements of female athletes and inviting new collectors into the space, Breen hopes to create a more vibrant and welcoming environment for all sports enthusiasts and card collectors alike.

As Leaf Trading Cards continues to push boundaries and celebrate the accomplishments of women in sports, the Women of Sport collection stands as a testament to the incredible talent and impact of female athletes. Through this series, Leaf not only commemorates the achievements of women in sports but also cultivates a more inclusive and engaging trading card community for fans of all backgrounds.
