One of the headline-grabbing items was a 1960 game-worn Roberto Clemente jersey that commanded a staggering $256,714. Another standout piece was a Ted Williams jersey from his remarkable 1942 season, fetching an impressive $191,563. The allure of Williams memorabilia continued with a 1940s warm-up jacket that sold for $40,920, further enhancing the auction’s appeal to baseball aficionados.

A baseball bearing the autographs of Babe Ruth and Honus Wagner, passed down as a cherished family heirloom, saw spirited bidding reaching up to $102,694. This pristine baseball wasn’t just limited to Ruth and Wagner’s signatures but also featured the marks of Al Simmons and George Earnshaw, adding to its historical value. Additionally, a 1920s signed photo of Ruth and Lou Gehrig fetched $131,066, while a 1949 Jackie Robinson card with a PSA grade of 9 autograph sold for $85,772, demonstrating the enduring popularity of these legendary players.

Shifting gears to basketball, a highly-coveted item at the auction was a 1997-98 Metal Universe Championship Precious Metal Gems card featuring Michael Jordan. Graded 8 by PSA, this rare collectible sparked intense competition among bidders, eventually commanding an impressive $232,847, underscoring the growing interest in PMG Championship cards within the auction market.

In addition to individual pieces, the auction also showcased unopened sports memorabilia that piqued the interest of collectors. Items like a 1961 Fleer Baseball Greats box and a 1974 O-Pee-Chee Baseball box were among the highlights, alongside a 1991 Kentucky Derby owner’s trophy that fetched a substantial $165,479, adding variety and depth to the offerings at the event.

The auction’s spotlight on game-worn memorabilia was particularly noteworthy, with a Sidney Crosby rookie season jersey, as well as items from sports legends like Lynn Swann, Brian Leetch, and Jerry Lucas, capturing the attention of attendees and fetching significant bids. These items not only represented a connection to sports history but also provided collectors with a tangible piece of sporting greatness to cherish.
