Topps Reclaims UFC Trading Card License in New Deal with Fanatics Collectibles

In a thrilling announcement for both trading card enthusiasts and mixed martial arts fans, the UFC trading card license is making its way back to Topps. Through a newly established exclusive multi-year agreement with Fanatics Collectibles, Topps will once again take the lead in producing UFC trading cards. This collaboration, facilitated with the assistance of UFC’s licensing agent IMG, is set to reshape the world of UFC collectibles and reignite the fervor of fans.

Previously holding the position as the primary producer of UFC trading cards from 2009 to 2020, Topps is returning to the scene after a brief three-year period where Panini America took over. The transition back to Topps marks a significant moment of reunion and anticipation among collectors.

The first product to emerge from this renewed partnership is the highly awaited 2024 Topps Chrome UFC, set to hit the market on February 28. UFC fans and collectors alike are eagerly awaiting the launch, hoping to get their hands on the latest addition to their trading card collections.

Tracey Bleczinski, Senior Vice President of UFC Global Consumer Products, expressed her excitement about the reunion with Topps. She emphasized the vibrant market for UFC collectibles, acknowledging the sport’s immense popularity and the dedicated following it has garnered over the years. This collaboration aims to provide fans with new and engaging ways to interact with the sport and their favorite fighters through the world of collectibles.

Mike Mahan, CEO of Fanatics Collectibles, also shared his enthusiasm for the partnership. He highlighted the widespread popularity of UFC trading cards among collectors and Fanatics Collectibles’ dedication to capturing the essence of the sport’s rising stars through their cards. To promote the UFC line, Fanatics Collectibles plans to leverage their Fanatics Live platform, which features live athlete interviews and card breaks. This initiative aims to strengthen the connection between fans and fighters, creating an enriched collecting experience for all involved.

Furthermore, this new deal with Topps under the Fanatics umbrella extends beyond trading cards. UFC and Fanatics already have a successful partnership in the realm of memorabilia and apparel, with products available both at events and online through UFC Commerce. With Topps now back in the picture, UFC enthusiasts can expect an even broader selection of memorabilia and collectibles to celebrate their passion for mixed martial arts, further enhancing their connection with their favorite fighters and moments from the Octagon.

In conclusion, Topps reclaiming the UFC trading card license in collaboration with Fanatics Collectibles is a significant development for both the trading card industry and UFC fans. With the anticipated release of the 2024 Topps Chrome UFC, fans can look forward to an exciting range of collectibles that showcase their favorite fighters and their moments of triumph in the Octagon. The future is bright for UFC collectibles, and this collaboration sets the stage for greater engagement and enjoyment among fans of the sport.
